"Our very special, special Tee Pee Friends,

Words cannot express how appreciative and grateful we are for all the work you put in to make our 25th Anniversary a tremendous success. The design was beautiful -- the food was fabulous. Of course our camaraderie with all of you helped to make it a very memorable evening. Thank you so much for the "no gifts please" bench, hummingbird lights . . ."    -Wally and Cathy

"Just wanted to say thank you to you and your staff for making our Lion's Sweethearts night so special. The meal was wonderful . . . many positive comments were heard. People really liked the steak/shrimp combo idea. Such a nice green salad, too. Thank you for all of your efforts with this."   -Tom and Lorrie

"Thanks so much for your planning and work for our retirement party. You did a fantastic job getting things ready. Your competence shows. Keep up the good work."   -Larry and Ann

"Thank you so much for the wonderful experience we had with you. Big Al's Malt Shop was a big success and you made my job easier by being prepared and nice to work with. We appreciate all your work and look forward to possible future endeavors!"   -Kate Mathison & One Acchord Performance

A Tee Pee Birthday

It was the son’s 22nd birthday, not a huge remarkable one, but a birthday, none the less (and ask anybody who knows me, I’m all about the birthdays!). He was in college in La Crosse and we, the parents, in Neillsville. “Let’s get together for the birthday, where can we meet?” I asked my son. Neither of us wanted to drive all the way in one direction or the other. Where could we meet for a good meal? I remembered- “Mr. Thompson’s Tee Pee Room in Tomah!” Where the heck is that? he asked. A short explanation to him, and my mom in Madison, and the plans were set. Tuesday evening at 5pm..but what if they aren’t open? Tuesday nights sometimes aren’t the hoppin’-ist of nights. A quick call to a friendly hostess on the other end finished with relief. Bring a cake in? Sure you can, we’ll take care of that. How fun!!

How did I hear about the Tee Pee Room and their great food?

My friends and I have been coming to Tomah for the last 3 years for a little pool tournament run by some guy (Art?) from La Crosse and held at the fair grounds. Not only did we always have the best time at that (never really doing very well), but we discovered the Tee Pee room besides! What service! What a menu! What delicious food and in unheard of portions, not to mention, fair pricing all around. Needless to say, we were impressed. People who work at the Tee Pee seem to enjoy what they do and want to serve you. Seem to “want” you there. The bartenders are friendly, chatty, and I must say, they make the best whiskey old fashioned “press” that I’ve ever had in my 24 years of samplings.

A warm and friendly place. A vibe that everyone was just glad to be there hanging out.

Anyway, our birthday celebration was one of the best ever, even for a not such a land mark birthday. Food, all yum, even for my eco- veggie lovin Mom from Madison (who loved her burger!). For 5 of us, it didn’t break the bank, they served up the Lemon meringue cake (my son’s favorite desserts are all lemon) and then we shared with our waitress and hostess. Which is how I came to write this little note and include the Lemon Meringue Cake recipe. It’s too bad that pool tournament was moved out of Tomah, but I’ll try to find an excuse to come and eat at the Tee Pee whenever I can.

Thank you for such a nice time!

Sincerely,

Chris Smith, Neillsville WI.
